Hispaniola is not a French word

[edit]

Hispaniola is Latin. The French equivalent would be 'L'Espagnole'. But the Latin form is used in most languages. Including Spanish and French.

Hispaniola is not used in Spanish. Daniwhite2408 (talk) 21:35, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Too many pictures

[edit]

I remove a few pictures, but more could go. Or maybe they could be moved around a little. They're all kinda nice pictures but some are less relevant than others. Wizmut (talk) 16:38, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Error foto

[edit]

Error in the photo of Haiti, that is the population of Haiti but the photo is from the border with the Dominican Republic. I don't know where it says, according to you, what it is. 190.27.214.10 (talk) 21:12, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This doesn't seem right. Someone added a bad edit?

[edit]

In the first paragraph why does it say "consisting the good side of Dominican Republic to the east and the wild and evil axis/Haitian Creole-speaking Haiti to the west." Good side and wild and evil axis? I'm new to Wikipedia edits, I have no idea how to find who made the edit and when. Adimauro (talk) 02:10, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That was vandalism by an IP editor around four hours ago. I have reverted it. THanks for letting us know. HiLo48 (talk) 02:31, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Incoherency in the Fauna section, under Geography.

[edit]

This section seems very incoherent, there are parentheses that make no sense and the language used towards the end seems very informal, non informative and odd. I quote:

''More than half of the original distribution of its ecoregions has been lost due to habitat destruction impacting the local fauna and some of the original animals either threat, threatened with extinction or totally extinct, because of climate change or because they have been hunted by humans or their habitats have been felled or changed for some reasons or have become some of the animals have been threatened by (introduced animals, not native animals or invasive species) or there are fighting for space to survive and perhaps some animals that feed on the same plants or animals or just something like that.''

I'm not sure how to edit an article properly. Could someone take a look at that? ItsGeb (talk) 01:33, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
